Wat Doi Mae Pang was the home of Luang Pu Waen from about 1962 until his death in 1985 after some 90 years in robes. This disciple of Luang Pu Mun attained great (though undesired) fame after he was reportedly seen floating in meditation in the sky above Doi Mae Pang by a passing Thai Air Force pilot.
